Kreijne family business goes for sustainability in Hoogland

The Esso petrol station on Bunschoterstraat in Hoogland (near Amersfoort) has recently acquired four fast-charging poles. Here, power can be supplied to cars, vans and trucks24 hours a day .
“For our Hoogland family business Kreijne, this is yet another step towards further sustainability, in addition to the HVO100 diesel we have been selling for some time,” says responsible Rosan Kreijne. “Given the new emission regulations in Amersfoort, our charging stations really come at the right time. After all, from 1 January 2025, the core shopping area will be a zero-emission zone, so supplying businesses will only be allowed with clean vehicles.”
The four charging stations have a charging capacity of up to 400 kWh. This means that a passenger car arriving ’empty’ can continue on its way fully charged after half an hour. Payment is possible with all existing fuel cards, as well as with a debit or credit card. While waiting, visitors are welcome in the Bakery Bun for coffee, drinks and a wide range of freshly made sandwiches and snacks.
Ready for the future
“With the arrival of the new charging stations, a trajectory of about five years has been completed,” Kreijne says. “In 2020, we started developing the first ideas and proceeded to purchase a weighted electrical connection and a transformer house. That turned out to be just in time, because shortly afterwards the national problem of grid congestion arose and nobody could get a weighted connection. But we were therefore ready for the future by then. The costs are of course huge, but fortunately we were able to secure a grant that helped us with the start-up costs.”
“We chose the Kempower charging stations because they are relatively small and graceful in size. After all, the eye wants something too…,” laughs Kreijne. “They are satellites connected to a larger central distribution box. The charging station was installed by TSG Charge from Almere, which has realised more than 120,000 charging points at 20,000 locations in 11 years. TSG is already our technical installer for the pumps and cash registers.”
Last Wednesday 19 February, Kreijne cut the ribbon and the four fast charging poles on Bunschoterstraat in Hoogland were officially put into operation. “A nice milestone in our almost centenary,” she said on the occasion.
