Kreuze and Fieten gas stations rewarded for lowest litre prices
Refuelling was not cheaper than at Tankstation Kreuze in Havelte and Fieten Olie in Steenwijk this year. At that first location, a litre of E10 petrol cost an average of €1.7125 in 2024, while the average litre price for diesel at Fieten in Steenwijk was €1.5097. They will receive Slim Tanken Award from MultiTankcard for this.
The more than 3,500 Dutch filling stations affiliated with that payment platform are all eligible for the award. The winner in the diesel category, Fieten Olie in Steenwijk, came a close second among the cheapest pumps for E10 petrol with an average of 1.7370 euros per litre. Of the same brand, the location in Rogat, Drenthe, came third. Among diesel pumps, Roeleveld-Rolink and Denekamp came second and Esso Expres De Grens in Winterswijk third.
Compact team runs three stations
Commercial director Gerald Meijer of Kreuze is naturally delighted with the win: “We are extremely proud and grateful to receive the Slim Tanken Award 2024. With a compact team, we run three filling stations, a car wash, our own fuel trucks as well as a mini storage facility. All this enables us to serve our customers economically, without compromising on quality.”
Wadden Islands most expensive
MultiTankcard further notes that regional differences were again large. Residents of the Randstad region cannot easily count on a cheap tanl in their neighbourhood anyway. Those living in Meppel, Heerenveen or Peel en Maas are relatively cheap, while refuelling is nowhere more expensive than on the Wadden Islands – but that was also the case last year. “A lack of competition and higher transport costs may be contributing to this.”
On average, non-highway petrol stations were again cheaper in 2024: over 17.5 cents per litre. In previous years, it was 15.2 (2023) and 14.3 cents (2022) per litre, so this difference will only widen for the time being.
