Industry associations introduce new Environment and Safety Handbook

The industry associations Vemobin, Drive, BOVAG, NOVE and Plusport have jointly prepared a new Environment and Safety Handbook for (multi-)energy filling stations. This handbook describes the legal obligations on environment and safety, as laid down in the Environment Act and the Working Conditions Act.
According to the industry associations, environmental services as supervisors are going out more often again to check whether filling stations meet all legal requirements and whether employees are working according to the rules. Changes in the Environment Act and associated regulations made it necessary to update the old Environmental Care Manual. This led to the development of the new Environment and Safety Handbook.
Insight into legal obligations
The handbook provides insight into issues of importance to entrepreneurs and employees at petrol stations. It provides insight into the legal obligations under the Environment Act and health and safety legislation, how to implement and self-monitor them. The handbook provides guidance so that unnecessary environmental pollution can be avoided, unsafe situations do not arise or energy is not handled sustainably.
Lisanne Henneveld of Drive stresses that the handbook was created in cooperation with industry experts and relevant parties. “My advice is emphatically to print this version and put it in a folder that is clearly visible and accessible to all employees in the shop. At times when it is not busy or even better at times to be agreed, the various chapters of this manual can be gone through with the employees. Even new employees should read this handbook before starting work.”
The handbook is available digitally and is updated regularly.
