T-Energy filling station with unique ‘menhirs’ supporting canopy opened on N34 near Emmen

On the N34 west of Emmen in Drenthe, a filling station has opened with three metre-high ‘menhirs’ under the canopy, unique for the Netherlands. T-Energy ‘De Blikken’, a petrol station in Tamoil’s network, is also the fifth in the Netherlands to offer a luxury Flocafé petrol shop.
The busy N34 is known as the ‘Hunebed Highway’. T-Energy filling station De Blikken, just west of Emmen, has a design unique to the Netherlands in which three ‘menhirs’, metre-high stones, support the canopy. The menhirs are a nod to the dolmens found in this region. Besides the possibility of filling up with traditional fuels, the location also offers green energy, such as electric charging in due course, and other services in the form of a spacious shop with the Netherlands’ fifth Flocafe. T-Energy De Blikken in Emmen is the ninth T-Energy station opened by Tamoil Netherlands. On the opposite side of De Blikken, at stopover Westerveld, Tamoil will start developing a second filling station in autumn 2025.
New shop
The shop is furnished according to a new concept designed by Tamoil itself which includes the fifth Flocafe Espresso Room in the Netherlands. Tamoil Netherlands is the franchisee for the Dutch market of the Flocafe. At the Flocafe, different coffee varieties are used to prepare the coffee according to WBC (World Barista Championship) standards. There is also a special assortment of fresh sandwiches and other delicacies.
Opening promotions
Motorists will receive up to 20 cents discount per litre on Euro95, Superplus 98 and diesel from Wednesday 16 April for 20 days. The discount applies to the Tamoil recommended retail price. Anyone who refuels 20 litres during shop opening hours will receive one 2-litre can of windscreen washer fluid for free per fill-up.
Tamoil operates a total of 236 filling and charging stations in the Netherlands. The company is part of the Oilinvest Group, an oil group with refuelling and charging stations in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and the Netherlands.
